Harps Across America #26

Since it's been a while since I've done one of these posts. I made sure to get a photo while I was on my mini Midwest tour back in 2022 .

After researching the area my dad found the lighthouse that you can see behind me located at the Milwaukee harbor. Despite being afraid of heights I find lighthouse charming and have enjoyed climbing to the top and cautiously looking out while gripping the railing tightly.

We didn't go into the lighthouse but I did learn a little about it. It's called the Milwaukee Pierhead Light and is still active. If you want to take a look drive down to the Milwaukee Harbor. When we went parking wasn't too bad but it probably depends on when you go.

Also from the spot we stopped to take the picture you could see another lighthouse in the distance. If you look to the left of my head you can see it. That lighthouse is called the Milwaukee Breakwater Lighthouse. We thought it was fun to be able to get both in the photo.

I think it comes as no surprise that Wisconsin is cold in the winter. Besides being cold it was also windy the day this photo was taken. The wind was bad enough it wasn't safe to set the harp up. So I thought it would be better to keep it in the case for this photo.

If the weather had been nicer we would have stayed to walk around the area little bit. The way the blue of the sky melds into the blue of the water gives off a serene and scenic presence. Maybe one day I'll get to come back when it's a little warmer.
