Harps Across America #22

I know it’s been a couple months since my last post and fI feel bad about the delay. Life gets a bit hectic during my festival season but I’m back and very excited to share a new adventure with you!

In October I got to travel to Troy, NY to record a radio appearance on WEXT. We arrived several hours early and, while eating lunch at a local pub called the Tipsy Moose, started to Google what was in the area. Being somewhat of a history lover I was excited to find that there was a museum nearby called the Burden Iron Works Museum. Turns out the museum itself is located inside the old offices of the Iron Works Factory.

We didn’t realize when we showed up that they prefer you call ahead to make an appointment but the tour guide let us in anyways. It was a fascinating place filled with historical pictures & artifacts. The guide was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the area, factory and with each item inside. While the rest of the factory doesn’t exist anymore there was a miniature model showing you what factory use to look like back when it was running.

If you are a history fan a definitely recommend this place as a stop if you travel through Troy.
