I love Nashville! My first time visiting the city was last year and I instantly fell in love with the place. There’s a rhythm you feel when you walk down the streets that makes a person fell alive. Music can be heard out of every open door and window and mixes together in the air. But the sound isn’t one of discord or clashing noise that makes you want to cover your ears. Even though different chords are being played and melodies sung it somehow melds together nicely and adds to the character of the city.
I was fortunate enough to be able to add my own music to the sound this July when I performed at The Back Corner. The Back Corner gave my a warm welcome and I look forward to going back again one day. I can honestly say I hope to live in Nashville. It really feels like home.
The photo above was taken on Music Row more specifically on Music Square East. It seemed a fitting spot for a Harps Across America episode as the statue is if Owen Bradley. A musician who worked up through the ranks and became seen as country music’s greatest producer and created what was known as the Nashville Sound. He really is an inspiration as a musician.
