Kristin Rebecca's Bio

Kristin Rebecca is an award-winning musician and active performer. She started guitar lessons and joined her first band in middle school. During her sophomore year in high school she began playing the lever harp, and started training in voice and guitar at Howard Community College. Throughout middle school, high school and college Kristin worked with many musicians and bands as a harpist, vocalist and/or guitarist, in various genres including: Rock, Jazz, Celtic, Classical, Christian, and Folk. For many performances she arranged tunes and songs. During that time Kristin also started her solo career. In May of 2011 Kristin graduated, with honors, with an Associate’s degree in Vocal Performance.

Kristin’s solo gigs to date have been in Maryland and Virginia. In 2007 Kristin started to write and arrange her own pop songs, which are influenced by the broad range of genres that she has studied and performed. One of the unique features of Kristin Rebecca’s style is the blending of harp into many of her pop songs. She performs her own material as a solo artist and during portions of Painted Trillium’s shows. In 2010 Kristin started recording her first album (an EP) and worked with Grammy-winning producer, mixer and recording engineer Scott Shuman. In December of 2011 Kristin released her album, Fringe. Fringe provides a taste of Kristin’s style and broad range of song themes.

Kristin also continues to perform in two bands: she leads the Celtic group Painted Trillium (web site) and is a lead singer and dancer with a pop/rock volunteer band. Painted Trillium is a Maryland-based three member Celtic band. They have been part of a feature on CNN and have performed in Maryland, D.C. and Minnesota. Some of their venues have included the French embassy, Merriweather, music festivals, private events and the Maryland Renaissance Festival. In 2010 Painted Trillium recorded with the metal band called Sound of Thunder on their album Metal Renaissance. You can hear them on the album’s track Beast.
